Biography

Bald, big-eared Johnny is a versatile performer and presenter, having spent many years working all over the entertainment industry: ITV, Wembley Stadium and The Royal Palladium are just some of the places he hasn’t performed. However, you may have seen him playing the Duke of Cornwall in BBC1’s Arthur-King of the Britons; or heard him as the stadium announcer at Luton Town Football Club; or even caught a glimpse of his Captain Codseye in the Royal Spa Theatre’s production of Dick Whittington.

His talents (and cheap fees) have taken him right across the globe: In Blackpool he won a limbo dance contest (he hasn’t walked properly since); he popped up in a music video for Irish band Le Galaxie (Women in Love); performed, and coached football in the USA (98% of his students have gone on to successful non-footballing careers); worked as an all-singing/dancing/juggling/shouty-mouthed entertainer, in France (Il parle français comme une vache espagnole); dressed up as a giant mouse for channel 4 Roadshows (don’t ask); and reached the semi-finals of the Daily Telegraph Stand-up Comedy Competition - narrowly failing to reach the grand final, simply because the judges didn’t find him funny (a minor detail).

After losing his hair in a prank outside Debenhams, he ignored the call of the comb-over, said ‘certainly not!’ to a syrup, and steadfastly refused the regaine. He just polished his pate, and went forth into a cruel newhairy world - appearing in a commercial for After Eight Mints (the happy bald man); in The Adventures of Lord Haw Haw, at the Luton Library Theatre (a variety of bald characters); there was the sports show: Pull ‘Em Off At Half-Time (The bald presenter); toured in Baldilocks & the Three Hairs (have a wild guess); and most recently in CBBC’s Twirlywoos (The confused bald man), and Stag TVs award-winning Eesha (The scary bald man).

His career has continued with many more adventures, each one more similar than the last.

For many years he has been East Dunstable's third favourite Harry Hill impersonator (you should see the other two).

At present, he combines acting work with running a popular party business - as well as presenting live & syndicated radio shows.

What free time Johnny has, he likes to spend memorizing train timetable statistics, and taking part in competitive ukulele strumming.
